FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Mildred K.H. Wong Chang
Mildred K.H. Wong Chang94, passed away on August 17, 2021 at her home in Waimanalo of natural causes. She was also known as 'Millie, Hungie, Popo-to her 16 grandchildren, Tai Po-to her 18 great-grandchildren. Her love for people showed in her smile. She volunteered at Castle Memorial Hospital many years and was honored as 'Volunteer of the Year.' Her smile brightened and comforted many patients as she took them for their medical tests. Mildred retired as an Educational Assistant where she enjoyed working with the Special Ed department. She formed many long-time friendships. She loved to travel and went to many different places which became evident in the many photo albums. Her green thumb showed in the many flourishing plants in the yard. She was a long-time member of Waimanalo Assembly of God Church. She blessed many people with her heart felt prayers. She had a strong faith in God and everyone she met she shared her faith about Jesus Christ with the question 'Do you have Jesus in your heart?' She also had a generous and giving heart. She was the first to want to donate one of her kidneys when the doctor told her about her daughter's failing kidneys. If she knew someone's birthday or even anniversary, there would be a greeting card for that occasion. That will be greatly missed. She was also a member of Chup Ying Tong Society. She loved to cook and the favorite one was baked beans which was a hit at many potlucks. Another specialty she had was her boiled peanuts and that could be counted on at any eating gatherings. She is survived by her six children: Rae-Ann Kim (Gary-deceased) of Kailua, Jerilyn Ferguson (Ted) of California, Kathie Wallin (Josh) of California, Robin Clark (Randy) of Maui, Jacqueline Wine (Daniel) of Maui, Matthew Chang (Nadine) of Waimanalo. A Drive Through visitation will be on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Valley of the Temples Trousdale Chapel from 11:30am-12:30pm with a burial to follow at 1:00pm at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
