FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Melvin P. Vios
Melvin P. Vios 82, passed away peacefully in Las Vegas, on September 9, 2021. Mel was born in Waialua, where he grew up as the youngest in a lively family of five brothers and two sisters. He graduated from Maryknoll High School in 1956, was proud to be a lifelong Spartan, and attended his class reunions as often as he could. Mel was a Vietnam veteran, and served as a union business agent, as well as running his own personnel consulting firm for many years. Gifted with a beautiful singing voice, he performed with The Honolulu Chorale, Voices of Aloha and the Honolulu Chamber Singers. His other great passion was playing cribbage and poker with his family and friends. He was a Grand Master in cribbage and won the Hawaii State championship on a number of occasions.
Mel is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughters Tina Ricketson and Lisa Norris; seven grandchildren; sister Connie Tenio and brothers Ricky and Vicente Vios.
