Jim served as a deacon and elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, the Blood Bank and was active in the local chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers - working to celebrate local engineering achievements and promoting Cooperative Engineering Education. In his free time, he enjoyed building and flying model aircraft.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Shelton Grogan of 65 years and his son James Edward Grogan (Christine), and three grandchildren Olivia, Peter, and Levi of Baltimore, Maryland.
Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu at Ko'olau, Sunday, October 3rd at 12:30pm.
