74Betty worked as a secretary for American Factors before changing careers and started a 25+ year child care business where she took care of dozens of babies, toddlers and school children as if they were her own.
She is survived by husband Howard Y.H. Lau; sons, Terrence (Michele) and Mitchell (Carol); daughter, Stephanie (Mark) Obatake; grandchildren: David (Nida), Andrew, Trevor, Carter, Connor and Taylor; great-grandson, Zaid; sister, Annette (Eugene) Lam; brother, Daniel (Ann) Chun; brother-in-law, Barney (Harriet) Akuna; sister-in-law, Rusty (Clarence) Chun.
A private service was held at Hawaiian Memorial Park on
Friday, September 24, 2021.
