Ranceford “Randy” Kunio Miyamoto
Passed away on August 14, 2021, in Honolulu, HI, at the age of 79. Randy was born in Wailuku, Maui, and moved to Honolulu where he earned his teaching degree at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Randy devoted his life to being a strong advocate of the fine arts, both in the community and as an instructor. His teaching career extended over 40 years, with Farrington High School becoming his teaching home and where he eventually served as Department Head. Randy loved helping his students to see the beauty in fine arts and also to show them how to use the proper tools and techniques. He took great pride in seeing his students win many awards in national competitions for their creative projects throughout the years. Randy is survived by sisters Desiree Miyamoto-Fujita (Steven) and Jerri Young (Glen), and nephew Alexander Young. He was predeceased in death by his parents Elsie H. Miyamoto and Mitsutoshi Miyamoto.
