She moved to Hawaii in 1980 and lived in Kaneohe with her family. She took English classes and worked as a cook in several Japanese restaurants. Her hobbies were sewing, flower arranging and flower making craftwork. She was a devout Christian, baptized @ Kaneohe Baptist Church. She is survived by sons Melvin S. Sakai and Ronald A. Sakai and daughter Sharon E. Lum (Marshall). Grandchildren Michael Sakai and Melanie Sakai. She will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends.
