Ayako S. Matsuo passed away in her sleep at her Kahala Nui residence at the age of 102 on May 23, 2021. She was born in Lihue, Kauai and graduated from the University of Hawaii. Predeceased by her husband Keijiro Matsuo, together they managed the Ewa Kai Hotel until their retirement. She embraced all that she met, blessing many lives through her sense of humor, and her open hearted, wise, and caring ways. She is survived by son Jon (Patty), daughter Dawn Robinson, grand- children Scot Matsuo (Shizuka), Erin Sim (Eddie), Stacy Fermahin (Christian), Ty Robinson (Michelle), Christian Robinson (Yoli) and twelve great-grandchildren.
