Theresa Bow Jun Lau
Theresa Bow Jun Lau On September 8, 2021, our Heavenly Father summoned Theresa home, surrounded by her loving family. Born 92 years ago, she grew up with her six siblings in Kaimuki. She graduated from Sacred Hearts Academy and St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. Her interest in pediatrics led her to the Cooke County Medical Graduate School. She worked as a pediatric nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Honolulu, then transferred to Shriners Hospital.
Theresa married Thomas, her true love and husband of 68 years in St. Louis, Missouri before returning home to Honolulu to raise six children. She managed his thriving medical practice and family business for over 40 years. She created a full life for their family, planning exciting and educational family trips to the mainland, hosting dinner parties, and teaching the children home repairs. In addition, she excelled at cooking, sewing, knitting, embroidery, drawing, painting, ceramics, and gardening among other pursuits. Theresa will always be remembered for her beautiful face, smile, and unconditional love for her family.
She is survived by husband Dr. Thomas Lau; children: Catherine, Diane, Roberta, Bonnie, Jonn, and Tina; grandchildren: Jackie, Gregory, Valerie, Stephen, Eryn, Nathan, Melissa; 2 great grandchildren; 4 godchildren; sister Martha, brother Paul, and sister-in-law Alice. She is predeceased by sisters Bo Ngan and Pauline, and brothers Bernard and Michael.

Private services were held at St. Stephen Catholic Church.
In lieu of gifts, donations can be made in Theresa's name to
St. Francis Healthcare Foundation of Hawaii Hospice.
