Lorraine Puakinamu Kaaihue
"Aunty Pua" 86, was born on January 14, 1935, and raised in Kapahulu. To her 'ohana, she was "Pua" or "Aunty Pua", and to many others she was "Ms. Kaaihue", being a teacher at Waikiki Elementary and with the DOE for 37 years. She was loved as the family's Super Fan, prayer warrior, and devoted advocate. She was well accomplished, with high school honors, a college degree, and a purple belt in Judo. She was also a Christian Education Director, Sunday School Teacher, and alto in the choir at Kawaiaha'o Church. Pua was pure Hawaiian in every way. A loving light, a healer through lomilomi, and a woman who touched the lives of many with her warm unconditional aloha. She was selfless, humble and kind. She dedicated her heart and soul to 'ohana, friends, and the Church. She was truly an angel. On September 23, 2021, she was welcomed into the arms of ke Akua and reunited with her sisters: Lei, Maka, and Nona Kaaihue; brother: Charles Kaaihue, and parents Annie and Kala Kaaihue. Her legacy and memories are carried on by her sister Rachel Lahela Kaaihue, brothers Henry Kapono (Lezlee) Kaaihue, Kala (Rose) Kaaihue, Jr., and her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
