83, of Etowah, TN, formerly of Honolulu, HI, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021.Joyce was passionate about her love for Jesus. She was an active member of Nuuanu Baptist Church and a beloved teacher at Hawaii Baptist Academy (HBA) for thirty-seven years. In 2014, HBA awarded Mrs. Wong with the Lifetime Legacy Award for her lifetime of service, commitment, dedication, and love.
Joyce was the daughter of the late James and Helen Baker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Arthur Yun Yuen Wong; three sisters, Betty Quinn, Emily Cobb, and Helen Hope Baker; and one brother, James Lark Baker.
Survivors include her two sisters, Norma Orsborne of Sandy Springs, Maryland, and Lucy Wilson of Frankfort, Kentucky; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private burial took place in Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joyce Wong Scholarship at HBA's Office of Institutional Advancement, 420 Wyllie Street, Honolulu, HI, 96817.
