He was born to James and Margaret Uemura on March 22nd, 1946, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He graduated from Farrington High School and received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Hawaii.Stephen enjoyed a long and successful career (from which he recently retired) as a commercial insurance agent. He was an avid golfer, wine aficionado and enjoyed traveling with his family and hanging out with them as frequently as possible.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Uemura; his daughters, Stacie Uemura and Sara (Michael) Wiley; grandson Grayson Kiyo Wiley; brothers Ronald Uemura and Kenneth Uemura and sister Jan Higa.
Stephen leaves with us an ongoing gratitude for his life—a faithful and loving husband; exemplary father and grandfather; caring brother and generous friend. His spirit remains with us while he lives eternally with Jesus in the very presence of Yahweh.
A small private service will be held.
