FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Richard Waldo Sisler
93, of Hawaii Kai Retirement Community, Honolulu, HI, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021 Born in Lima, Ohio to Gerald R. and Jess F. Sisler Dec. 26, 1927 the first of fraternal twin Robert Sisler.

Richard graduated from Lima Central High School (Lima Ohio) and cum laude from Ohio State University with a BS degree in Ornamental Horticulture.

He worked for three different growers in Ohio before starting his own business Floralcrest with two other partners Robert Leuzinger and Ralph Urban in Mendota, Illinois. The business had one acre under glass and a retail floral shop which operated for 32 years.

As a hobby he painted with oils and watercolor and won several local awards.

He and his wife Karen, married in 1960 in Toledo, OH, moved to Hawaii in 2006 where he continued his art work. An additional hobby was raising all kinds of plants on his lanai. Many residents received plants and trees at HKRC for planting on the property.

Survivors include his wife Karen T. (Fortune) Sisler; son Todd M. Sisler of Palm Springs, CA; Nieces Mrs. John (Sharon) Albright of Louisville, KY, Mrs. Tim (Susan) Lehmam and nephew Gary R. Sisler of the Louisville area. Richard Sisler was preceded in death by parents, daughter Mrs. Larry W. (Tracy Lynn Sisler) Campbell of Texas; Robert Sisler of Louisville.

The R.W. Sisler family lived in Toledo, Ohio; Mendota, Illinois; and Hawaii.

A Remembrance and Farewell will be held at a later date in Hawaii Kai Retirement Community.
