FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Alfred “Freddy” Torres, Sr.
Alfred Alfred "Freddy" Torres, Sr., 92, of Honolulu, a former Roofer and 1949 Golden Glove Boxing Champion, died at Kina 'Ole Estates in Kaneohe. He was born in Honolulu, June 7, 1929, and was married to Juanita L. Torres for 64 years prior to her passing in 2014. Freddy and Juanita were lovers of Puerto Rican music and were affectionately known at the United Puerto Rican Association as, "The Dancers." They both were avid fans of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Freddy also enjoyed running well into his 70's and was a gifted dog trainer.
He is survived by children, Alfred Jr (Janice), Laura Jane Nahale, Hank (Victoria) and Christopher (Linda). His second daughter, Rose M. Rice (Robert), passed in 2020. He has nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be held 11:00 am on January 18th, 2022 at Hawaiian Memorial Park. Visitors are welcome.
