Dad was born in Hamakua, Big Island on December 23, 1922. He married the love of his life Itoyo Mary, and together raised five daughters on the island of Maui. After moving the family to Honolulu, Dad continued his long career as a supervisor in road construction. Upon retirement he spent his golden years spoiling the grandkids, gardening, and traveling to many interesting cities with Mom and the family.
Preceded in death by wife Itoyo and daughter Jane Sugimoto, Shigeo is survived by four daughters: Esther Yee (Everett), Lois Tanimoto (Lance), Faye Higa (Raynard), Sheila Taira, 8 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

Dad made everyday a good day with his infectious smile and kind spirit. He was our hero! A hundred million thanks to you, Dad! You will always be in our hearts!
Private services will be held at The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
