78, of Mililani, an Army Veteran and retired Supervisory General Engineer for the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, Quality Assurance Department, passed away quietly on October 15, 2021. He was born in Honolulu and graduated from Kalani High School and the University of Hawaii.He is survived by his wife, Gail Matsumoto and 2 step sons, Jason and Chad (Bles) Hijirida, and 1 granddaughter, Paige Hijirida. Also survived by his brother, Kean and sister, Karen (Howard) Yoshioka.
He loved to volunteer to help any organization. Of significance was his tenure as the President of Mililani Town Association's Board of Directors for 32 years. He was a leader and manager in many of the organizations he helped.
We will miss him; however, as our nephew says, "Now Uncle can see!". He is with our Lord and Savior and all the family and friends that preceded him.
Family and friends are welcomed to share in a Celebration of Eric's Life on January 22nd at Mililani Memorial Park, Mauka Chapel, 9:00 visitation and 10:00 service. COVID protocol must be followed. Please bring your Covid vaccination card or negative Covid test 48hrs. Masks are required. Casual attire please. Please no flowers.
