Keeping with family tradition, Peter attended Punahou School in Honolulu, as did his father and grandmother, and graduated from Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering on the East Coast. While at Punahou, Peter ran track, was a football quarterback and fell in love with his soulmate, Lois, who was a songleader for the football team. Their love story spans over 75 years.
Peter is leaving his indelible memory and mark on many who knew him, with his quick wit, storytelling ability, adventurous spirit and love of life. Peter was an avid fisherman, sailor and all around waterman, body surfing at Point Panic and Makapu'u and in his later years windsurfing, kayaking and stand up paddling in Kaneohe Bay.
Very social throughout his life, Peter had memberships at Kaneohe Yacht Club (past Commodore), Pacific Club, Outrigger Canoe Club, and was a member of the Rod and Gun Club and the Royal Hawaiian Ski Team - Whistler Chapter.
Always proud of his family, Peter leaves behind his dear wife Lois whom he adored and children: twins Lauren Hogan (Bob) & Leslie Krug (Jim), Peter Brown Nottage, Jr. (Tad) and Carrie Smith (Frank) and grandchildren: Ian Hogan (Emalia), Lindsay Worrell (Michael), Maile LaPenna (Luke), Conor Merrigan (Sare'), Peter Brown Nottage III (Chip), Halle Nottage, Lia Bartha (Justin), Sarah Smith (Derek) and great grandchildren Elia Hogan, Keahi Hogan, Elle Worrell, Ember LaPenna, Lorelei La Penna, Cleopatra LaPenna, Asa Bartha, Ruby Bartha and Cameron Jaeschke.
