Yachiyo Sugai was born in Waipunalei on July 1st 1920. She passed away at home peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 6, 2021. Her parents were Waichi and Hana (Kodani) Nagakane. Preceded in death by her husband (died 2007) and by Violet (Ayako) Egawa, Doris (Humiye) Sonomura, Thomas (Mitsugi), Herbert (Hiromu), Aileen (Kazuko) Sakabe and Nancy (Hanae) Pang. She is survived by 4 sons and two daughters (by age); Aileen (Dennis), Earl, Laura Goto (Van), Alvin (Maria), Wayne, Edwin. Three grandchildren Koren Mizusawa (Shane), Keri Leeson (Eric), Ashley Makuakane (Maicah), three great-grandchildren Emi, Kaito and Isla. Two living sisters Betty Koizumi and Marian Kaneko. 15 nieces and nephews. Private services were held on 11/6/21.
