Emma-Jay Anela FriasEmma-Jay Anela Frias, 70, passed away on November 2, 2021 at the Hilo Medical Center. Emma-Jay was born to Clayton & Ardis Wong in Kailua, O'ahu and was a longtime resident of Kahalu'u, before retiring to Hilo in 2016. In her eternal life, she's riding "shot-gun" through heaven with her high school sweetheart & beloved husband, Thomas Francis Frias - who passed in 2013. Emma-Jay's earthly accolades span a myriad of professions: a successful Real Estate Broker, owner of Frias Properties, and a passionate Community Programs Coordinator; Her legacy of thoughtfulness, compassion, honesty, and generosity will forever be remembered in the hearts of her loved ones. A lover of reading, cooking, and crafts, she finished nearly 170 reads in 2021, rarely used a recipe, and "design & crafted" a loving home in Waiakea Uka, which she moved into in early 2020. She is survived by daughters, Natalie (Leonard) Calvo of Guam, Nikki Frias of Kahalu'u; sons, Thomas (Joalena) Frias of Kahalu'u, Andrew (Chanel) Frias of Hakalau; 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grand- children and many other loved family-members who have called Tom and Emma's home "Home." A Celebration of Life for Emma-Jay Anela Frias will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Waimanalo Hawaiian Homes Hall. Visitation from 2-3:00 p.m.; Memories to follow from 3-4:30 p.m.; Emma would be honored if your attire was as colorful and beautiful as her life!
