Carolyn S. (Dillon) Arnold
Carolyn S. (Dillon) Arnold Manassas, VA. - Carolyn Arnold died peacefully on her birthday, January 9th, 2022, at her assisted living facility. She was born in Lynchburg, VA in 1936 and was the daughter of Dr. Ernest and Adele Scott. In 1957 Carolyn graduated from Sweet Briar College and shortly thereafter she married her first husband, Peter. They relocated to Rochester, NY and raised their family.
In 1981, Carolyn married Mark Arnold and they re-located to Westchester Co., NY and then to Honolulu, Hawaii. They spent 25 happy years in Hawaii where they enjoyed entertaining family and friends at their home overlooking the ocean. They also enjoyed going out to the many clubs to hear music, especially Jazz.
Carolyn was a beautiful, loving, and generous person who touched many people in a positive way over the course of her lifetime. She believed in treating others as you would like others to treat you. She had a lifelong love of music and was an accomplished piano player. In her younger years, she enjoyed skiing, and later, she liked going to the beach and taking long walks with friends.
Carolyn is predeceased by her husband, Mark Arnold and daughter, Debbie Berve.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters Carol Hanauer and Susan (Mills) Kelly, and by her sons Mark E. Arnold, Steve (Lisa) Dillon, and Scott Dillon. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Timothy, Matthew, Elizabeth, Andrew, Mark R., Nicholas, Weston, Eli, Jesse, Kalie, Hannah, Luke, Ross, Spencer, Matthew, Sean and Megan as well as 17 great grandchildren; her sister Adele (Harry) Caruthers, as well as a niece and nephew.
