FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

HERBERT S.K. KAOPUA, SR., “CHUBBY”
80, of Aiea, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2021 at his home.

Herbert was born December 12, 1941 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Isaac and Ida Kaopua and grew up in Waimanalo. He began his career as a plumber and ultimately served as Business Manager/ Financial Secretary for the Plumbers Union UA Local 675. He was well known for his contriubtions to the construction industry, as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and for his community service, having accepted various appointments to local boards and commissions.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ida Kahoali'i (Luther). He is survived by his wife, Loretta; his brothers Lovell (Emogene) and Isaac, Jr. (Heipua), his sister Karen Kahananui (Joseph, Jr.); his three children, Herbert, Jr. (Febray), Jason (Denna), and Shane (Nedra); his fourteen grandchildren, Micah, Ammon (Micaela), Davia, Alexis, Caleb, Jacob, Hinckley, Kaitlyn, Eden, Ashton, Mikayla, Hunter, Cannon, and Cumorah; and his two great-grandchildren, Leila and Rio.

Services will be held February 3rd at Hawaiian Memorial Park. Viewing from 8:30am to 10:30am Celebration of Life service 10:30am 11:30am. Burial to follow. Masks required.
