Though Hank died on May 29, 2020 after a long illness, his memory remains vivid with all who knew him. The family and the Marine Corps have waited until circumstances would make it possible to honor this husband, father, and great Marine with the farewell military honors his 37 years of active service deserve. On January 31, 2022, at 1:00 PM, the Marine Corps will render full military honors to the memory of General Stackpole in the presence of family and friends at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific Punchbowl).
