James Mitsuo Takeuchi
James Mitsuo TakeuchiJames Mitsuo Takeuchi, 89, passed away on January 28 at a private nursing home in Aiea. Born in Pahala on the island of Hawaii, he was the youngest son in a family of eight siblings. He attended Pahala High School and graduated in 1950. He then joined the Air Force serving from 1952-1955. He attended college at Indiana Institute of Technology at Fort Wayne, Indiana where he received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering in 1958. James then went to work in Los Angeles at the North American Aviation Co. and Control Data Corp from 1958-1970. He then returned to Hawaii and worked at Hawaiian Tel for 18 years prior to his retirement. During this time from 1972 to 1979 he also worked at Oahu Furniture and Von Ham Young Mercantile. One of James passion in life was ballroom dancing at the International Dance Club. Later in life when he started slowing down, He focused more on the stock market and going on his daily walks. He is survived by his loyal and faithful wife, Sunye, who was his number one passion in life. Memorial services to be held on February 16th at 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Oahu Mortuary 2162 Nuuanu Avenue. James will later be laid to rest on February 17 at 11:30 am at Punchbowl National Cemetery of the Pacific. Family request please no flowers or monetary gifts.
