FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

MERVIN T. OHATA “BOBO”
MERVIN T.  OHATA Age 77 of Honolulu, Hawaii, died in Maplewood, MN where he resided for 48 years. He graduated from W.R. Farrington High School and later Honolulu Community College. He was a member of the USMCR, 6th Force Reconnaissance Co., Pearl Harbor. After Boot Camp in San Diego, CA., he attended Army Airborne Jump School in Okinawa, Japan.
"Proud Veteran" Bo moved his family to St. Paul, MN in 1974 to work for the 3M Company, Plant Engineering Supervisor, and retired with 32 years of service.
Survived by girlfriend, Annette Mary Garbers; Spouse Bonita Jean Ohata; former spouse Miriam Diane Ohata; son Gerald T. Ohata, wife Tracey, grandchildren Evalani and Kaia of Burlington, Ontario, Canada; daughter Tina Malia Ohata Roeser, husband Dan, grandchildren Jackson and Kendall of Hugo, MN; son Derek Keone Ohata, wife Tricia of Herriman, UT; Hanai, Kaimi Balancio, Kamuela, HI; brother, Reuben Alan Nakagawa, wife Mindy of Waipahu; sister, Charlienne Riko Tamon, Honolulu; brother, Randy Lee Nakagawa, Honolulu. Preceded in death by father, Mervin T. Ohata, Rosalind "Rosie" Ohata; brothers, Calvin and Alvin Nakagawa; stepfather Charles T. Nakagawa.

A Celebration of Bo's life will be planned for the spring.
Ashes will be returned to Hawaii.
