FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Thomas “Tommy” Gibson Rietow
Thomas Passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family on January 22, 2022.

Born on Oahu in 1943 he was educated at Manoa School, Punahou, graduated from Roosevelt 1961 and attended Arizona State University; His working career started as a Union Oil truck driver which transitioned into 40 years of experience in the construction & building industries throughout all Hawaii with Management positions in Honolulu Roofing, Lewers & Cooke, Amfac, Honsador, Castle & Cooke, Lanai Company, Hale Kauai, Hardware Hawaii, HPM among others

Because of Tommy's passion for all things Hawaiian he was affectionately dubbed the "Haole Hawaiian" His legendary love for the Ocean steered him into being Captain of the Koko out of Honokohau Harbor, Hawaii Island where he also served many years as a Commissioner for the annual Hawaii International Billfish Tournament. He was also an avid hunter - especially on Maui & Lanai.

Tommy is survived by his wife Wanda Williams Rietow, daughters Laurie Cabuag-Ogata and Sherri Rietow sons Kipekona and Keaka Rietow, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and sister Petie Brown.

In keeping with Tommy's wishes a Celebration of Life will be held at Oahu Mortuary on February 27, 2022 from 10:00-12:00 noon with burial to follow.
