80, of Kailua, HI, passed away on February 16, 2022. Jerry is survived by his wife Lyn Young Egenberger, daughter Lisa Marie Zara (Ken Miyasato) of Honolulu, HI, son Samuel Zara III (Sharon See) of Aberdeen, NJ and grand- children Heidi and Noah Jacobs of Honolulu, HI and Claire and Wyatt Zara of Aberdeen, NJ. Jerry was predeceased by his parents John and Virginia Egenberger and brothers Donald and John Jr. Jerry was a Navy veteran and retired DOD Deputy Fire Chief for the Marine Corps at Camp Butler, Okinawa, Japan. He also worked at other stations in Prescott, AZ and El Toro, CA. After retirement from the Federal Fire Dept he served as the Safety Officer Supervisor for the University of Hawaii, Manoa.
Private services were held. Jerry's final resting place is in Hawaii State Veteran's Cemetery, Kaneohe, HI.
No goodbyes. We will meet again! Love, Your Ohana.
