FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

LOREN PATRICK DEAN ABIVA
LOREN PATRICK DEAN ABIVA62, passed away on January 14, 2022. Born in Honolulu, he was a graduate of Waipahu High School. Dean worked as a carpenter at Punahou School for 24 years before retiring in August, 2021. He previously worked at Matson Navigation Company and was a small business owner, contributing much of his time and talent to the Benedictine Monastery in Waialua. Dean was a loving and devoted father to his two sons, supporting them in sporting, cultural, academic and musical events.

He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred Sr and Loretta (Osurman) Abiva. Surviving children include sons Loren John Kaimana Abiva (Kehaulani) and Jacob Kekoa Villa-Abiva. Surviving brothers; Alfred Jr (Kula), Michael (Diane Soliven), Joseph (Heather), Peter-Paul (Jennifer) and Samson. Surviving sisters; Alfreda and Lisa Choo(Thomas Rodrigues). Dean is also survived by his friend and former wife, Corie Abiva, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dean will always be remembered for his unwavering kindness and compassion for others and his incredible love for his sons. Services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Diamond Head Mortuary. Visitation at 5:30pm; prayer service at 6:30pm.
