A 1974 graduate of St. Anthony High School, Liz continued her education at the University of San Francisco, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science in 1978. She then went on to graduate school at the University of Hawaii Manoa.
While at UH she met Nathaniel "Thane" Shippen, her loving husband of 40 years. Employed by the State of Hawaii, they lived with their son, Ian, in Honolulu before making their home in Gentry Waipio in 1993.
It was there that "Aunty Liz" became an integral part of the family at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church. Active in the many ministries of parish life, she especially enjoyed mentoring and inspiring their youth ministry. Many will remember her boisterous laugh, awesome spirit, and "wisecrack" humor. She loved her students; her encouragement and support often proved pivotal to their lives.
Liz is survived her husband Thane, son Ian, sisters Leilani Siri and Susan Redpath, brother Felix Domenden Jr., and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Felix Domenden Sr. and Conchita Domenden, and sister, Maxima Domenden.
Memorial services will be held at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church, 94-1260 Lumikula St., Waipahu HI, on Monday March 14, 2022. Visitation at 10 AM, followed by mass at 11 AM. She will be laid to rest at Maui Memorial Park on Maui alongside her parents.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
