FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Edith Tomiko Matsumoto
We remember our beloved wife, mom, grandma, aunty, and friend who passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2020 at the age of 91.

Edith was the youngest daughter of Yone and Yonezo Nomura. She was raised in Palolo and Kakaako with her 5 siblings: Walter; Francis; Janet (Yanagihara); Joseph; and James. Edith attended Palolo and Pohukaina Elementary, Washington Intermediate, and McKinley High Schools. She worked for W. A. Ramsey, Coyne Mattress, Harry T. Yanagihara, Inc., and the State Senate President's office. Edith was a lifelong member of Nu`uanu Congregational Church.

Edith's cooking was the best! She shared her dishes with everyone and was a master at all types of cuisine, especially traditional Japanese food. Edith loved gardening and the plants and flowers in her yard brought happiness to many. She enjoyed traveling and accompanying Albert on his tours to Japan as they made numerous friends. Most of all, Edith loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Edith is survived by her husband of 65 years, Albert Yoshio; son Keith; daughter Carol Chung; son-in-law Mike Chung; 4 grand- children: Keshia and Mikaela Sakamoto-Matsumoto; Lianne and Brian Chung; and many nieces and nephews.

We miss Edith dearly. Her faithful, generous, loving spirit and memory will live on in our hearts. Our family extends our sincere gratitude for your kind condolences. Private service held.
