Audrey Noriko Nakamura, age 77, passed away on January 27, 2022. Audrey was born in Honolulu, HI, on January 24, 1945, to Frank Hiroshi and Toyoko Nakamura. She was the third of 4 siblings.She graduated from McKinley High School and the University of Hawaii with a Sociology degree. She was a Social Worker, and teacher of Special Education for many years. In 1971 she took a training from Werner Erhard in San Francisco and then brought the est trainings to Hawaii with three other graduates.
Audrey studied Reiki, Ho'oponopono, zen with Tanouye Tenshin Rotaishi and massage with William (Dub) Leigh. She became a massage therapist, and worked with Dub Leigh to start International Zentherapy Institute Inc. and taught Zen Bodytherapy. Audrey is survived by her brother Mike (Kay) Nakamura, sister Lynn Nakamura, 3 nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Roy (Dorothy) Nakamura and Teacher/Partner William Leigh.
Audrey was a kind, generous and supportive person. A celebration of life service was held on March 17, 2022 at Hosoi Mortuary, Honolulu, HI.
