Our beloved mom lived her life enthusiastically. Prior to the pandemic, she enjoyed working out with friends at the YMCA and socializing afterwards. She loved her family, friends, grand fur-babies, cooking and feeding people, her plants (especially orchids), watching comedies and game shows, going to Las Vegas and playing dominoes. She loved to socialize and laugh whether at home, out with friends or when meeting a stranger while out and about. She had a special gift for making all that knew her feel important and loved. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and laugh, generosity, thoughtfulness, grateful spirit, bringing happiness to others and her bigger than life presence. Although her physical being is no longer with us, we continue to feel surrounded and comforted by her loving spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard R. Fukunaga. She is survived by her children Mildred (Gary) Watanabe, Clarence (Charlotte) Omizo, Francine (Alissa Arakaki) Fukunaga and Neil (Sheryl) Fukunaga, grandchildren Carly, Brad, Keri and Shane and sisters Patsy Michihara and Carol Yamagata.
The family wishes to thank the numerous staff at Kaiser Permanente and Bristol Hospice as well as Dr. Gary Yap (Kaiser) and Dr. Chad Sato (Aloha Chiropractic) for the compassionate and excellent care provided to her
