FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

ROBIN KUULEI STASZKOW DURAN
ROBIN KUULEI STASZKOW DURANRobin passed away as quietly as she lived her life, close to her husband, at their ranch in Waimanalo.
Born and raised on Oahu, Robin met & married the love of her life, Louie Duran.
As a military family, they moved a lot, and finally settled down in Everette, WA. Robin became a Registered Nurse there. No easy task while raising children! She worked hard at a convalescent home while studying & attending college. She succeeded and chose Oncology as her path. She went to work for 15 years at Providence General Hospital in Oncology. Upon returning home, she joined the Oncology unit at Queen's Medical Center, and worked there for 9 yrs until she retired!
Robin enjoyed learning her Hawaiian culture by joining Halau & doing community activities. She also, in her spare time, enjoyed helping animals! She was known as the 'Cat Momma' at Sandy beach because she cared for the cats there and often gave some of them a permanent home at her ranch!
Always helping others, becoming an RN was someone she was meant to be from birth. A kind and gentle soul who just loved animals! Her favorite of all, was a horse named Eskerka who crossed over long ago. A beautiful brown Arabian. I believe, he came for her the night she passed. He knew she was tired from her difficult life's journey of the last few years. Together they flew into Heaven when the moon was full & bright, and the sky was clear. Such a beautiful, pure soul with a soft heart.

Ho'ohanohano wau ia 'oe i keia la, my tita.
