FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Claude Ralph Phillips, III
Claude Ralph Phillips, III78, of Kailua passed away on March 28, 2022 at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on January 17, 1944 in Corpus Christi, TX to Claude (Capt. USNR ret.) and Sarah Phillips. Claude graduated with a BS from Georgia Tech in 1968 and an MBA from Pepperdine University in 1980. He began working as an industrial engineer for ALCOA, then for United Airlines for many years thereafter. Claude and his family relocated to Hawaii in 1987 where he soon became an icon in the Hawaii mortgage broker industry, serving on the Hawaii Association of Mortgage Brokers Board of Directors for decades and several terms as president.

He was a man of faith and a devoted husband, father, and "Poppie," loved by all and known to be a soft-hearted soul. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Susan Fulton Phillips, and they are now reunited in the Kingdom of Heaven. They are loved by many and will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his stepmother Beverley Phillips, sister Susan Himburg, sons Claude Ryan (Kristen) and Stephen (Liana), grandsons Grayson and Gavin, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Kailua on April 25th at 10:30 AM, followed by a celebration of life at the Phillips' home.
