FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Carol Hisako Azama
Carol Hisako Azama, 79, passed away peacefully at the Azama home in Kalihi Valley, with family members by her side on April 3rd, 2022. She was a Mother, Grand- mother, Great-Grandmother, Aunty and friend to many. She loved her family, her garden, and traveling to Las Vegas. Carol was born on October 20th, 1942 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was raised by mother, Sueno Sato and Step-Father Tadashi Sato. She grew up in Kaneohe, Kalihi and eventually in Waianae. She graduated from Waianae High School in 1960. She was married to Harris Azama for 12 years and is survived by her children - Debora, Brian, David and Melanie. Grandchildren- Cassandra, Chelsea, Casey, Kiana, Robert and Bronson. Great- Grandchildren - Kupaa, Keao and Kaihilei. Her dogs - Keko and Gachi. She worked for Hawaiian Telephone for over 30 years. Started around 1965 as a keypunch operator, studied and worked her way up to be a Circuit designer and eventually to Switching Tech. In 1997 Carol bought her beloved home in Palolo, found joy in gardening and adopted a neglected vacant lot next to her house. She loved being in the garden and talking to the neighbors. The community requested that the park be named "Carol's Park", in honor of her dedication and love for the land. She was loved by many and will truly be missed. Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Oahu Mortuary Chapel. Visitation 9:00-10:00 A.M. Service 10:00 A.M. Casual Attire.
