Richard K. Papa, Sr.
Richard Keli'ipunika'ilanike'alawahinanowahine'opuna Papa, Sr., 92, born March 10, 1930 passed away peacefully at home in Pearl City on March 11th, 2022 as his family surrounded him and bid him a final Aloha as he joined his wife of 69 years, in Heaven. Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, provider, silent supporter. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and then raised in Wai'ohinu, Hawaii. He later learned English as he only spoke Hawaiian and attended 'Iolani High School. He loved his family and preferred to watch and listen in the background; always ready to help at a moment's notice. "Always give, always help others" was his motto. He is predeceased by his eldest son Richard K. "Likeke" Papa, Jr., granddaughter Kelani (Adam) great-grandchildren Khloe and Gabe Mirau, Silas Valliares, Gabriel (Ortensia), James Papa; daughter Mabeth Kawena Peterson (King), granddaughter Kimberlee Akana (Chris); daughter Lila Kehamalani DeAguiar, granddaughter Anela Naholoholo (Kamalani) great-grandchildren Thea and Rhys; daughter Ah Lan Ka'ulamealani Diamond, granddaughter Anuhea Diamond great-grandchildren Hulali, Hi'ilei, Haweo and Hoapili Patoc; granddaughter Ke`alohi Diamond; grandson Kawika Diamond (Leslie) great-grand children Augie and Ezekiel Diamond; youngest son Paul Liloa Kinoulu Papa (Maria), granddaughter Malie Quini-Papa. We also give special thanks to St. Francis Hospice and our caregivers for their undying care that went beyond professionalism for Daddy. Services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Oahu Cemetery Chapel in Nu'uanu. Visitation from 12pm-1pm. Services from 1pm-2pm. Private inurnment.
