Thomas was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Honolulu and Woodbury College in Los Angeles, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration
Thomas served four years in the United States Air Force. After military service, Thomas moved to New York City where he was a long time employee of the Dean Witter company.
Thomas is survived by his sister Margaret Freitas (Thomas), nephew Kevin Freitas, niece Jennifer Freitas and grand nieces Tea and Tevai.
Private services were held.
