Lei-Nora Louise Freitas, age 56, of Honolulu, passed away on April 26, 2020. Born on January 10, 1964, to Frank and Marceline Freitas, Lei-Nora attended the special education programs at Liliuokalani Elementary, Pohukaina School, and McKinley High School. She graduated from Kaimuki High School in 1984.Lei-Nora was an accomplished Special Olympian in swimming and bowling, winning several medals. She competed in the Special Olympics USA Games in 1983 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, coming in 6th place in swimming. Lei-Nora loved family gatherings, Hawaiian music, dancing hula, and her cell phone. Most of all, she loved making new friends and was recognized where ever she went, much to the amusement of her family.
Lei-Nora is survived by her brother, Frank (Janie) Freitas; sisters, Katherine (Lance) Freitas, and Sydney (Robert) Dickerson; brother-in-law Chester Adessa; nephew, nieces, and grand-niece. Celebration of Life for Lei-Nora and her sister Margaret Adessa, will be Sunday, May 22, 2022, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Please contact Sydney for more information at 808-927-4240.
