Scott served in the US Army as a helicopter mechanic for 26 years and retired as a First Sergeant; He worked for Island Air as a lead mechanic from 2004 to 2013. He was a mechanic for Hawaiian Airlines from April 2013.
He is survived by his wife Rae of 37 years and their son Lopaka (Melissa) Byers. His mother, Kay Byers, brothers: Keith (Ann) Byers and Mark Byers; Sisters: Romaine Keck, Elizabeth Gilbert and Dawn (Norm Marriott) Knisley. He is predeceased by his father Luther Byers and sister Karen McClain.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, 21 May 2022 at Calvary Chapel, Honolulu at 98-1016 Komo Mai Drive in Aiea. Visitation: 9:30 a.m.; Services: 10:00 a.m.
