FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Tokucho “Toku” Ige
Toku (100) was born in Hanalei, Kauai, on September 6, 1919 and passed away in Honolulu on June 2, 2020. Toku was predeceased by his wife Irene Asayo Ige and is survived by his 4 sons: Gerald, Alvin (Donna), Brian, and Vernon; his 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Thomas (Nobu) Ige, sisters Sakae Loo and Natsuko Minami.

Toku was a Staff Sergeant as a member of the 442 battalion and was honorably discharged after WW2 ended.

He worked at Stewart's Pharmacy until the late 60's and later became one of the longest employed at the Waialae Bowling Alley, working until it's very last night of business on Feb 28, 2008. Toku was an avid bowler and considered all the bowlers as his 2nd family.

Please be advised that masking is optional and temperatures will not be taken, but as a courtesy to others, please stay home if you are experiencing any cold-like symptoms.

Funeral services will be held at Nuuanu Mortuary, Saturday May 21, 2022. Visitation is from 11am, Service starts at 12 noon. East Chapel.
