Born on March 06, 1931 in Mauna Loa on Molokai. Emily is survived by her son, David (Dawn) Johnson, step-son Bryan (Lisa) Abe, step-daughter Lori Yamada. Grand-daughters; Nicole Wick, Shaena Torgerson, Tiani Johnson and Grand-son; Jarrett Johnson. Multiple great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Emily is predeceased by her husband Harold K. Abe, son; James "Jimmy" Johnson, Parents; Umeichi and Tsune Okawaki, Brothers; Roy, Tom, William "Bill", Patrick "Pat", Ed, Mike, unnamed brother and Sister Janet.
Emily moved from Hawaii to Valinda, CA to pursue her teaching degree. After 30+ years of teaching Elementary School she retired in 1997 and returned to Hawaii, where she lived on Maui for over
10 years before moving to make Oahu her home. Emily has met and made friends on both Maui and Oahu. Emily was a strong willed individual who enjoyed spending her time with her late husband, fur animals, making crown flower and ti-leaf leis that she would pass out to the many people she came across. Emily also enjoyed being a self seamstress. Emily will be missed for her words of wisdom and talks of her growing up on Molokai.
A graveside service will be held on June 3, 2022 at Diamond Head Memorial Park for 2:00pm
