CARMEN RUBY ORTIZ STOUT
CARMEN RUBY ORTIZ STOUTCarmen was born on July 24, 1943 to Frank and Margaret (Sanchez) Ortiz in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Carmen passed away peacefully on May 29, 2022 in the Phoenix area after a prolonged battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her loving husband, William Kenneth Stout of 42 years, her son Stephen Erik Livernois of Chicago, IL; her daughter Lisa Marie Livernois Timmons (Aaron) of Queen Creek, AZ; stepdaughter Lisa Ann (Stout) Deephouse, Las Vegas, NV; stepson David William Stout (Katie) of Milo, IA; and her siblings Frank, Jonathan, Margaret Alcantar, and Lenora Nelson.

She graduated from Farrington High School in 1961 and received a Business Certificate from Honolulu Business College in 1962. She then worked as a stenographer in the Los Angeles area for the U.S. Government. Carmen worked for many years as an Executive Administrative Assistant in the Quad Cities, and in 1994 retired from the City of Davenport Iowa.

One of her favorite activities was attending Women's Bible Study Groups in Davenport and at her summer home on Madeline Island. Carmen looked forward to boating and relaxing with friends on Lake Superior. She also loved traveling and visiting her beloved birthplace, Hawaii, where she will be laid to rest.

Carmen was an outstanding wife and mother who provided much-needed spiritual guidance and comfort to those around her, giving selflessly of her time, love, and compassion to those she knew, as well as toward complete strangers. One of her last requests was that we love one another as Christ loves us.

The Phoenix memorial service will take place on June 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Messinger Mortuary, located at 8555 E. Pinnacle Peak Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85255. The visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m.

Additional services will be held in Honolulu, HI and Davenport, IA, at a later date.
