Berwin ChowBerwin Bernard Gung Yau Kaliko Chow passed away at home on January 24, 2022 surrounded by his family at the age of 73. He grew up in Kailua, Oahu, graduated from Kailua High School, Class of 1967 and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Shortly after that, he met his future wife Leslie, raised their children and played an active role in their upbringing and various activities. Berwin worked as a Drill Operator for over 40 years and was currently employed by JPB Engineering. He enjoyed his swims in the ocean, diving & relaxing with his family & friends at the beach. He loved to make imu for special occasions & always did one for the Thanksgiving turkeys. He was the fixture in the kitchen helping with parties, and enjoyed all the many visits by everyone who stopped by to see him and cruise on the picnic table.
He is survived by wife Leslie, children Celina (Lydell), Aaron (Naomi), Nalani (Kamaka), Jennifer (Aly), Hanai children Carly Hanawahine (Jonathan) and Corey Downs, grandchildren, Romy (Austin), Jonny-Ayze, Alaka'i, Charly, Austin, Hi'ilei, & Nainoa. Siblings, Robert, Winifred Tam, Denys Davidson (deceased), Sarah Glendon, Kelvin, Patrick & Robinn Asuncion. Numerous nieces and nephews and extended Ohana. Celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Kailua Boat Ramp (parking lot end) at 10:00am. Paddle out & scattering of ashes at 11:00am. We ask for all to be COVID cautious please.
