He knew nothing about soccer at the time but broadened his knowledge of the game by watching professional soccer and reading about the sport. As his children moved to competitive soccer, he volunteered to be an assistant coach. His last soccer season was as head coach for the Junior Varsity Soccer Team at Saint Louis School.

Nappy was a die-hard Denver Broncos fan. Half of his wardrobe is the Broncos attire. His children were born to love the Broncos too. Nappy is loved by many for his warmth, positive outlook, and his enthusiasm to have a good time. He was a fun-loving guy with an amusing sense of humor.
