Thor began his trade and gained his experience working at various woodworking companies. After being in the U.S. Army Reserve he worked in Kwajalein then moved to Los Angeles, California with his family. He became a general contractor and carpenter building many shopping centers. Thor then formed his own construction company. Many years later, he moved his family to El Paso, Texas and then relocated to Johnson City, Tennessee with his oldest daughter.
Thor finally returned home to Hawai'i in 2003, continued many projects including a complete renovation of his own house. He was a first class carpenter with "mcgyver" techniques. Thor was a handyman that loved to create and build things like bird houses and making ukuleles. He was also known as a high-point bowler, car enthusiast, spear fisher, avid shoreline fisherman and surfer. As a lifelong musician, his love for music was intensified when he played the guitar and ukulele. He loved playing video poker (had many Royal Flushes) and video keno in Las Vegas and also enjoyed quiet times playing Word Find. As a hobby he enjoyed cooking; and especially creating and perfecting his own recipes.
Thor will be sorely missed as he had such an infectious smile and contagious laugh. He was a humble man that was so friendly to every person he met along his path, a visionary, innovator, hard-worker, very resourceful and creative in his mind and with his hands. His compassion and kindness to others was felt not only by his words but by his actions.
