Tadashi was born the seventh of twelve children (including 5 step siblings) in Kahului, Maui, on September 9. 1930, to Chotaro and Hisano Yamamoto. He is survived by his sisters Shigeko (Dorothy) Uno, Haruko (Hazel) Goto and brothers Kazuo (Lefty) Yamamoto and Noriyuki (Skippy) Yamamoto.
After graduating from Baldwin High School in Kahului, Maui in 1948, he worked for a short time as a carpenter until he was drafted in 1951. Tadashi served tours of duty in Korea and Japan from 1951 - 1953. After his discharge, Tadashi graduated from the University of Hawaii in 1960 with a BA in Vocational Education and Math. He was a teacher in the Hawaii Department of Education from 1960 - 1966 and taught math, economics and citizenship to the inmates in the Hawaii State Prison from 1966 - 1970. From 1970 - 1985, he was a Program Specialist in Vocational Education for the University of Hawaii Community College system. Tadashi retired in 1985.
Tadashi married his wife, Katherine, in 1963, and was a dedicated family man. In his spare time, Tadashi's favorite hobby was working in his backyard "farm" and he loved to share the bounty of his efforts with family, friends and neighbors.
A private service was held June 15th at Hosoi Mortuary. The family requests that no koden be sent.
