DANIEL “DANNY” AIKALA
Danny, 88, of Waipahu, passed away on May 4th with his family by his side. Originally from Maui, graduated from Lahainaluna in '53 then joined the U.S. Army and retired after 21 years. Danny was a hard worker because while in the Army he also worked for Hawaiian Building Maintenance and retired as Vice President after 32 years. He loved going to bars to relax and sing Korean karaoke. He was with the VFW, Eagles Club, Past President of the Ohana Kauaua and enjoyed golf with his friends from the Pin High Golf Team. He was a very good provider for his family and would do anything for them. Predeceased by spouse Josefina Pino Aikala; brothers, Sonny and Roger Aikala, and sister Vivian Aki. Survived by daughter Vivian (Ricky) Verdadero; son, Daniel "Tito" (Malia) Aikala Jr.; brothers, Martin (Helen) Aikala, George (Miki) Aikala; sisters, Lillian "Sweetheart" (Clifford) Rosa, Girlie (Raymond) Plante and Cupie Lindsey; sisters-in-law, Shirley Aikala, Erma Aikala. 7 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren with many nieces & nephews. Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, July 12, 2022; 5 to 9pm at Mililani Mauka Chapel and Wednesday, July 13th at 11am for Burial Service at Hawaiian Veterans Memorial park.
