Glenn was born on September 25, 1948 and grew up in Pauoa Valley. During his young years, he was very active in the Boy Scouts and attained the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 15. He attended Pauoa Elementary, Kawananakoa Intermediate and Roosevelt High School. He then went to the University of Hawaii for 1 year, then enlisted in the U.S. Army as a medic. He transferred to the Hawaii National Guard to complete his 3 year military obligation while finishing his degree in biology and zoology at the University of Hawaii. He was later accepted into the John A. Burns School of Medicine, graduating in 1977, followed by 3 years in the University of Hawaii Integrated Medical Residency Program.
He opened his medical practice in Internal Medicine at Kuakini Medical Center in August 1980 and remained there for 36 years until he retired in December 2016. Glenn was a "one of a kind", caring and dedicated doctor who went above and beyond for his patients.
He was an avid fisherman, whose favorite fishing spots were Molokai and Waterfall Resort in Alaska. He loved going to Las Vegas and playing slot machines and video poker. He also had a love for music and enjoyed singing karaoke.
He always said "family comes first" and living by this, made him an amazing husband and dad. Glenn aka "Mr. Aloha" was an extraordinary person. We will miss him dearly and he will forever be in our hearts. As Glenn would say, we'll "see you later, alligator".
In lieu of gifts, donations may be made, in memory of Glenn, to the Alzheimer's Association and Kuakini Foundation.
