Of (and born in) Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away peacefully in her home on June 6, 2022 surrounded by her family. She spent more than 25 years working for the Internal Revenue Service and continued to work through her retirement years at Nu'uanu Elementary School as a Cashier and Early Morning Care Assistant.Lydia is survived by her 3 children - Marjorie Tupper, Debbie Wentzel and David Kauha; 5 grand- children - Manu, Tommy, Ethan, Pua and Sam; 1 great-grandchild - Noah; 2 brothers - Kenneth Chun and Carl Chun; former husband - Solomon Kauha; as well as nieces, nephews, grand- nieces and grandnephews.
Lydia will be dearly missed and always remembered. Her thoughtfulness, strong work ethic, and drive to persevere are qualities we will miss and strive to emulate.
At O'ahu Mortuary Chapel, the family will welcome friends of Lydia and her family from 2:30 pm to 3:45pm on Saturday, July 23, 2022. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to one of the following organizations to honor Lydia's memory: Malama Ola Health Services, The Hula Preservation Society, American Cancer Society.
