Known as "Tim" or "Brother" since childhood, he attended Punahou School in Honolulu and Princeton University before entering USAF Strategic Air Command in 1959 for three years. Tim returned to Hawaii where he married his childhood friend Sharon Rice in 1963 in Honolulu. He obtained a MBA at the University of Hawaii and later returned to Kauai with his two sons. He there developed the Kong Lung Center in Kilauea out of the former Kong Lung plantation store and gas station.
Survived by son Peter (Kori) and two grandchildren Braydon & Hobey, and a second son Toby (Tai) of North Kohala, Hawaii. Sister Cynthia (Eddie) of Hilo and niece Priscilla (Dave) Witt of California.
