83, of North Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on January 12, 2021. He was born on April 12, 1937 in Aiea, Hawaii. He was the 9th child of 13 children (7 Boys and 6 girls) of the late Eusebio and Margarita (Nonol) Popa from Cebu, Philippines. They raised their family in Koloa, Kauai, Aiea and Waianae, Oahu. He loved playing the Ukulele while in High School and later became a musician. He graduated from Waipahu High School in 1956.
 

Garda Chieko Pualani (Sonoda) Popa
March 26, 1940 ~January 18, 2021

80, of North Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on January 18, 2021 at Mountain View Hospital. She was born on March 26, 1940 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Garda is the oldest of three children of the late Christopher Yoshiyuki and Mauna Ala (Bunker) Sonoda of Honolulu, Hawaii. She was a great artist during her youth and continued to be very creative and made many quilts for her family and loved to bake and cook for her family. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1958.

They were High School Sweethearts and later got married in 1960. Constantino joined the United States Air Force right after he graduated from high school and served for 20 years until he retired. He was stationed in Japan, Thailand, Colorado and retired in Hawaii where they raised their children and bought their first home in Waipahu. All five of their children also graduated from Waipahu High School. After retirement, he went onto work at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard as a Pipefitter until he retired again and in 1994 they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and raised their Grandson, Steven. He then got another job there as an Upholster for the Cat Transit Bus Co. and finally after 17 years, he retired a third time. Garda was a homemaker when their children were young. She later worked at Hickam AFB, Allied Builders, the Commissary, Walmart (LV) and the CAT Transit Bus Co (LV). They celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary with their family in April 2020. In January of 2021, they both passed away from Covid 19 and other underlying conditions at Mountain View Hospital, Las Vegas. They each passed peacefully with family by their side. God has truly blessed them to have lived such a wonderful life loving each other, their family and many dear friends. They will be deeply missed.

They are survived by their children, Lisa (Anthony) Ann Popa Duhaylonsod, Constantino (Cleo-predeceased) Popa, Jr., Clarissa (Grant) Claire Pua Aloha Lorenzo and Grandson, Steven Kaeo Young. They also have two children that predeceased before them, Ursula Jean Young and Christopher David Popa. They also have 16 Grandchildren, 28 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great- Grandchildren. Constantino is also survived by his sister, Jean (Robert) Bradshaw. Garda is also survived by her Sister, Christabelle (Hayden) Puanani Yoshie Burgess and Brother, Robert Sniffen.

Celebration of Life and Love will he held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Mililani Mortuary -Mauka Chapel. Visitacion begins at 9:00am and service will start at 10:00am. Inurnment (burial) will follow at 11:30am at Mililani Memorial Park, www.mililanimemorial.com, Ph: (808) 677-5631 Ext. 1. Aloha Attire. Family welcomes Flowers (please deliver to the Mauka Chapel by 8:00am).
