She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Theodore Wrobel; son Dr. Douglas Wrobel and daughter-in-law, Karen Wrobel of Honolulu; daughter Kristen Wrobel of Austin, TX; grandsons Isaac Wrobel and Luke Wrobel; brother Leon Williams, Jr. of Pittsburgh PA; and sister Gwynne W. Grose of Deland, FL.
A year after their marriage, Joyce and Ted moved to Hawaii. In addition to raising their children, Joyce worked in several occupations before finding that her true passion was the travel industry, which allowed her to see the world.
Joyce found great joy in her children and grandchildren who she showered with attention and supported their many interests. Whether it was hiking into Haleakala Crater or salmon fishing in Canada, she gave them so many rich experiences. Although far away from mainland family, Joyce kept everyone connected by making frequent visits.
Joyce had a bright and energetic personality, a happy person with an infectious smile. She enjoyed her long-established friendships, but delighted in making new friends. She was blessed with special friends and participation in many activities during more than 50 years of membership in the Kailua United Methodist Church.
Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the Kailua United Methodist Church at 1110 Kailua Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charities of the Kailua United Methodist Church.
